This cute house on the coast is a darling place, sitting on 5+ acres of pastures, snuggling against the wooded hills with its little cottages huddled around the main house like chicks around a hen. Built in the late 1940’s and remodeled and added on a few times, it provides most of modern time amenities on the wish list of the young family that moved in about a year ago. Almost everything except: two more bedrooms with a shared bathroom to accommodate the growing family; a master suite that actually deserves the name; a ground floor bathroom accessible from the hallway, second bedroom and the great room and a new entrance that will stand up to the constant flow of mud. So here is the plan for the remodel…

The Second Story

A second story will add two bedrooms and a bathroom, as well as allowing for a large landing/playroom/office.

Walk-through Closet

Subdividing the huge walk-through closet (with a sink and a toilet!!) into a bathroom accessible from the hall and a closet linking the master bath with the master bedroom will drastically improve the  master suite.

Center of the House

Moving the front entrance to the center of the house and creating a wrap-around porch with ample space for leisurely get-togethers, games and all the muddy boots.

The new entry/mudroom will allow to keep shoes, coats, bags etc. from spilling onto the living room floor.

Relax and Recharge in the new Master Bathroom

This is the current master bathroom with a raised ‘sunken’ tub and psychedelic purple marble as well as way too much blond wood.

This beautiful home in Pescadero is waiting for its interior design transformation and I am so excited to be working on this project!
